Be sure to read the small print in other home study schools’ enrollment agreements. Unlike some other programs, payment for the StenoMax program is based on lessons completed, not on the number of lessons sent to the student (whether the student is ready for them or not). Consequently, some schools charge an extra $100 per lesson plan “in the event that a student requires additional lesson plans to complete a particular speed.” Nor is a StenoMax student penalized for time missed because of illness or other difficult personal circumstances. In these situations, a leave of absence is granted, during which time tuition payments are suspended. Simply stated, the StenoMax home study program is truly self-paced, as long as the student is in compliance with Standards of Progress (see catalog). TEXTBOOKSTextbooks and study materials for the four required academic courses are purchased separately at the time these courses are taken. The approximate price is $60 per course for English, law and legal terminology, medical terminology, and court procedures. EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIESThe student will need a computer (see admissions) to prepare transcripts. The following equipment and supplies are purchased independently by the student:
