TUITION
Monthly tuition
for all students is $150 per month. Total tuition for the program is
the lesser of:
|
|
$5400 (36 months) or |
|
|
$150 per month x the number of months enrolled in
the program. |
Examples:
|
1.
|
Student withdraws after 3 months: total
tuition obligation is $450 ($150 per month for 3 months). |
|
2. |
Student graduates in 20 months: total
tuition obligation is $3000 ($150 per month for 20 months). |
|
3. |
Student graduates after more than 36
months: total tuition obligation is capped at $5400 ($150 per month
for 36 months). |
|
4. |
Although tuition payment may be paid in
full ($5400) at the time of enrollment, home study students are
encouraged to pay on a monthly basis.
|
Be sure to read the small print in other home
study schools’ enrollment agreements. Unlike some other programs,
payment for the StenoMax program is based on lessons completed, not on
the number of lessons sent to the student (whether the student is
ready for them or not). Consequently, some schools charge an extra
$100 per lesson plan “in the event that a student requires additional
lesson plans to complete a particular speed.”
Nor is a StenoMax
student penalized for time missed because of illness or other difficult
personal circumstances. In these situations, a leave of absence is
granted, during which time tuition payments are suspended.
Simply stated, the
StenoMax home study program is truly self-paced, as long as the student
is in compliance with Standards of Progress (see
catalog).
TEXTBOOKS
Textbooks and study materials for the four
required academic courses are purchased separately at the time these
courses are taken. The approximate price is $60 per course for
English, law and legal terminology, medical terminology, and court procedures.
EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES
The
student will need a computer (see admissions)
to prepare transcripts.
The following equipment
and supplies are purchased independently by the student:
Stenographic note paper (approximate annual cost of $75-100) may be
